Hi

Well, we are running TSM server 4.2.2.12 and we see it from time to time.
We used to get it on the 3.7 release too. The only thing I have found is
that it's a bad idea to kill the ghost session off (we are running on a
Solaris 2.7 machine) as we have seen our server CPU usage rise to 99% and
then crash.

Not good at all

Hi list,

I have noticed a strange behaviour of TSM server while using the web
browser interface : it seems that any action lasting a certain time (show
version on a huge filespace, or sql query needing some time to compute)
brutally stopped thru "stop" button on the web browser, leaves kind of a
"ghost" session, that never ends.
On my server it looks like :

Sess Comm.  Sess     Wait   Bytes   Bytes Sess  Platform Client Name
Number Method State    Time    Sent   Recvd Type
------- ------ ------ ------ ------- ------- ----- --------
-------------------
258.777 HTTP   Run      0 S        0       0 Admin WebBrow- OPERATOR
ser
262.927 HTTP   Run      0 S        0       0 Admin WebBrow- OPERATOR
ser
269.827 HTTP   Run      0 S        0       0 Admin WebBrow- OPERATOR
ser
272.577 HTTP   Run      0 S        0       0 Admin WebBrow- OPERATOR
ser
282.309 HTTP   Run      0 S        0       0 Admin WebBrow- OPERATOR
ser

Did anybody else noticed such a behaviour ? (server version : 5.1.6.2 on
AIX 4.3.3, browsing using IE version 6.0.2800.1106 on Win2k 5.00.2195 SP
3).
Thanks in advance !
Regards.

Arnaud
