Justin,
What about the idea of first reducing log (reduce log command) before
trying to delete a log volume ;-)
My 2 cents !

Am I missing something here? This database is in normal mode, and I'm
trying to delete one of my temporary log volumes that I just intended to
use for tsm server recovery earlier. Now it's up and I've emptied the
log I don't need it anymore. Now the reduction says I can reduce by 9
gig (if I'm reading that right?). Now as you can see the
"/downloads/log_save" volume is only 500 meg. What's keeping me from
deleting this volume? It's early in the morning and I work 1st shift
maybe it's a brain fart. Any suggestions I'd appreciate thanks!. I need
to get rid of this volume.
