** For TSM V5.1 (and earlier) clients
>From the backup/archive command line type:
dsmc s 20MBtest.file -password=your_pw -tracefile=trace1.out
-traceflag=perform,general > test1.txt


** For TSM V5.1.5 (and later) clients
>From the backup/archive command line type:
dsmc s 20MBtest.file -password=your_pw -testflag=instrument:detail

We have been trying to run some client traces to help diagnose
backup performance problems. We have historically found the
instr_client_detail trace flag useful in this connection.
Our 5.1 clients do not seem to accept this as a valid trace
flag. I have not been able to locate a 5.1 version of the manual
for the trace facility. Where can I find up to date documentation?
