The officially supported method is to use IBM LTO driver for drives and
TSM driver for library changer/robot. Therefore it is reasonable why you
get these results.
Are not you happy with current state?

Hi ... TSM'ers

I have a question ... to defining LTO drives.
I have a TSM 5.1.6.4 over Windows 2000. And I'm using a library LTO 3583
with two drives 3580.

I had problems when I want to define this drives using TSM Device drives.
This is the error:

05/05/2003 15:54:02 ANR2017I Administrator TCZQUP issued command: DEFINE
PATH sartsm1 LTO1 SRCTYPE=SERVER DESTTYPE=DRIVE LIBRARY=TCSLI-
B2C DEVICE=MT0.2.0.5 ONLINE=YES

05/05/2003 15:54:02 ANR8779E Unable to open drive MT0.2.0.5, error
number=2.
05/05/2003 15:54:02 ANR8420E DEFINE PATH: An I/O error occurred while
accessing drive LTO1.

If I define the same drives, but using the Windows 2000 drivers I dont
have
problmes, and I can define ok. My quetions is there are any method to
define
the 3580 using the drivers of TSM ???? What is the methods ???

Thank's in advance
Best regards
