Folks,

Does anybody know how the TSM device driver works with bulk ports? I have
observed the following behavior on a Spectralogic Gator library.

When checking out more than one tape using the bulk port, the first tape is
moved fine to the first element address in the bulk port. The second tape
is moved to the second element address just fine as well. However, before
moving the tape to the second address, it sends a command to the library to
move the second tape to the first slot (which it just filled), then getting
an error from the library, send another command to move the tape to the
second slot. For the third tape, try 1 then 2 then 3 and so on.

On the Spectralogic library an error appears on the screen indicating that
the software did the wrong thing.

I need to know if this is normal behavior and if other libraries simply
ignore the errors. The desired outcome is obtained, but with errors showing
on the library. Should Spectralogic change their firmware to ignore the
error?

Thanks,
