You probably ought to get in touch with IBM because if this is a device
driver problem, you will want them to fix it ASAP.

In the meantime, if you think it is a device driver, you can try installing
the device driver from the previous release. Sometimes this works and
sometimes it doesn't. Might get you back in business quicker.

Does this happen when using the windows driver? What does your device class
definition look like?

Hi,
After upgrade from TSM server v.5.1.6.2 to TSM server v.5.1.6.3 (and
later v5.1.6.4) TSM Server can't write more than 34 GB per DLT 35/70
cartridge, this happens regardless using TSM device driver or windows device
driver to control the DLT drives (using Generic Tapes device class or DLT
device class)

With TSM v.5.1.6.2, the TSM server wrote up to 80 GB per cartridge and
we were using windows device driver

My environment is the following:
- COMPAQ SERVER DL 380 G2 Machine running W2K SP3, TSM Server
v.5.1.6.4, TSM Device Driver v.5.1.6.4, TSM Manager v.2.4
- COMPAQ STORAGEWORKS TL891 with 2 DLT drives 35/70, Library Firmware 0525,
DLT Drives Firmware(2561)

Thanks in advance,

Henry Aranda
