Actually, this parameter is no longer used. It is accepted for parameter syntax, but the value now is always set to YES.
The documentation still needs to be update to reflect this information.

We found a similar improvement moving dbvols, logvols and disk storage
pool volumes to VXVM raw devices - running both Solaris 7 and Solaris 8.
