Laura,
It would help tremendously to understand more about the problem you are
having. For instance:
- What version of the client and server are you running (use exact version
numbers, i.e. 5.1.1.6, 5.1.5.9, etc.)?
- What exactly do you mean by "fail"?
- What messages accompany the failure? (check dsmsched.log, dsmerror.log,
server activity log, etc.)
- Any other information that might be helpful; the above is not an
exhaustive list.

Would like to know if anyone else has this problem or has found a fix:
NT/2000 servers fail nightly backups if Scheduler Service is not
stopped and started daily.
