I have seen this too, in my case the SYSTEM account permissions were removed
from the drive's root.

I don't know if anyone mentioned it but did you check the permissions? I've
seen backups fail before if the Everyone group was removed from the access
list...

the schedule didn't select \\fs1\f$  !

with

Domain ALL-LOCAL F:
the schedule selected \\fs1\f$
but it failed:-

01/03/2003 14:28:10 ANS1063E Invalid path specification

Can you try to add

Domain ALL-LOCAL

in your dsm.opt file?
If it still don´t working.
Try with

Domain ALL-LOCAL F:

Using the GUI    I    can backup  \\fs1\f$

I have tried deinstalling & reinstalling TSM backup client, still no good.

Any  help will be appreciated,  as this backup client is now fully
commissioned.

TSM Server version 4.1.4.1 on Windows 2000
TSM Client version  4.2.3.1
