I have updated the drives to reflect the new lun assignments and things are
working fine. I still can't delete the drives so that I can recreate them
to reflect the new lun assignments. Cosmetic reasons only yes, but I still
should be able to do it.

In 4.2 you define drivemappings, which creates paths for you. When you
delete a drive mapping, the paths get deleted as well. I think I broke
things when I deleted the paths first instead of the drivemappings.

I recreated/deleted the drivemappings and the paths were created/deleted and
yet I still can't delete the drives.

During this whole process there were no storage agent/server sessions
active. To overkill that point I deleted all server definitions to make
sure nothing started communicating during this process.

Have you tried "upd dri P1000 DRIVEx devi=<new device name> onl=y"? Are
there any server/storage agent sessions still connected to library
manager?
OTOH the behavior you are seeing is hard to understand - paths are
introduced in v5.1. To make things more curious the error number you are
getting is available in v4.2(.0.0) Messages manual !?!

I changed the Lun assignments for my tape drives and want to delete my old
drives and create new ones. When I go to delete them I can't due to a
path(s) being defined. As you can see the paths have been deleted along
with the drivemappings. I went as far a deleting the server definition to
rid the server of all references to the old configuration.

Any ideas how I can eliminate these tape drives?
