Yes, that will work fine.
The only other thing you should do is check the MAXSCRATCH parameter for
your primary tape pool.
(q stgpool TAPEPOOLNAME f=d)
If you leave MAXSCRATCH set to a high number, TSM will start a new tape for
each client.
If you have more than 202 clients, all your tapes will be used up at once.
In my case, I have MORE clients than I have slots in the library!
So you can set MAXSCRATCh to a lower number and limit the tapes TSM will
use.
For example, if you have 100 clients and you set MAXSCRATCH to 50, TSM will
put 2 clients per tape.
You still get most of the benefits of collocation, but it limit the number
of tapes that get used up.
