There are two common pitfalls in this area.

The log file defined in the client options file is only for use by the
client scheduler process or service. Backups started by other means are
not supposed to use that log.

The client scheduler process or service only reads the options file
or files during initialization. The process or service must be
stopped and restarted after options file changes.
