It's in

ADSTAR(TM) Distributed Storage Manager Version 1
User's Guide and Reference for Microsoft® Windows(TM)
Release 2
Third Edition (September 1994)
Document Number SH35-0125-02

3.12 DIRMC

Use the DIRMC option to specify the management class you want ADSM to use
for directories. If you do not use this option to associate a management
class with directories, ADSM uses the management class in the active
policy set of your policy domain that specifies the longest retention
period.

When choosing a management class for directories, be sure to choose one
that allows ADSM to retain directories at least as long as it retains the
files associated with them.

To display information about the management classes available in your
active policy set, you can click on Utilities on the Action bar, then
click on Display policy information.

Syntax

+------------------------------------------------------------------------+
¦ ¦
¦ >>--DIRMc mgmt_class_name------------------------------------------->< ¦
¦ ¦
+------------------------------------------------------------------------+

Parameters

mgmt_class_name
Specifies the name of the management class you want to associate with
directories. ADSM uses the management class you specify for all
directories it backs up. If you do not use this option, the
management class with the longest retention period is associated with
     directories.

Examples

Options file example: dirmc managdir

Command line example: Not available
