I don't have documents, but you may take these idea into consider:
advantages:
1. TSM is 'Full Automatic" backup product in proper planning.
Brightstor is helf automatic in this way.
2. Brightstor doesn't have aix agent.
3. The requirements of brightstor is higher(CPU,RAM,etc).
4. TSM's performance over network is higher.
5. TSM supplies full functions, just like DRM, Collocation,
Reclaimation, HSM on UNIX.
6. TSM client is a single program, but brightstor needs to install at
least 2 agent on a client machine.
7. TSM uses less tape volume after a short period of time.
8. Data Protection supports most database and most version.

disadvantages:
1. TSM is complex and diffcult, and brightstor is simple and easy to
use.
2. TSM is expensive.
3. TSM lacks reporting function (is you need this, you have to buy
dicision support and a database from MSSQL, DB2, Oracle)
4. TSM lacks SYBASE agent (but brightstor only support sybase 11)
5. There were few support from IBM if you don't have signature
maintainence with them.
6. User interface of Brightstor is more friendly and beautiful.
7. More cost of learning will be spend while using TSM.
8. lack of bare metal restore function on windows platform.

Hope it will be useful.
