You should get the redbook "Backup up DB2 using TSM" It explains all the
setup and maintenance operations that are needed. The DB2 BACKUP command
does not do versioning. Each backup is unique and you have to maintain how
many backup copies you want with the DB2ADUTL utility in the sqllib/adsm
directory. Also the management class should be set to VERE=1, VERD=0, RETE=0
RETO=0 so that when DB2ADUTL expires old version, they are immediately
removed from TSM. The redbook has recommentations of how to do retention,
eihter by date or # copies.

DB2 backups are not a simple creature to manage. Almost as bad as TDP Oracle
and RMAN. :-) I'm currently working on scripts for online and offline
backups, expiring old full/log backups, pruning the command history file,...
At least I'm learning a lot about shell scripting...

Hello TSMers;

Is there a script that would delete the expired DB2 backups and logs from
the TSM server.

If I look at the Client filespace on the server, I see that the backups
accumulated overtime.
I have the DB2 backups in a seperate management class that says keep three
copies and
retain the old versions for 10 days.

The environment is AIX 4.3.3.0
TSM Server and client are 4.1 (Yes. I am upgrading them next week)

Your help is appreciated.
