1.  Use batch mode, should work okay;
2.  In interactive mode, eliminate the quotes -- do this be determining the
8.3 version of the directory, as in "D:\progra~1\etc.txt";  I just tested
that, it works fine.  BTW, your server level is no longer eligible for
support.
