Well, NetBackup and Backup Exec can unload the mailbox (Inbox), but not the
calendars or any of the other stuff that is important that is in the
mailbox. You will not like the performance and your high-end users will
complain the restore is useless without the calendar.

PSTs are not mailboxes, they are separate files that a user can put mail
objects into.

The issues is Microsoft. They simply do not want to acknowledge the need
for an API that can support individual mailbox restore. The actual answer
is content management for the mailbox. There are a number of products that
and archive the information in a content manager.

ComVault has a product that goes further than just the mailbox by creating a
PST of the mailbox and then backing it up. You can imagine the overhead.

Unfortunately, mail has turned into a monster for everyone and there are no
good answers. You have to think of it as transactions in a database and
asking for a transaction log to recover with or roll back to for a user's
mailbox. The problem is that a transaction goes against many mailboxes at
once in Exchange and rolling forward is not simple for a single user.
