Burak,
First I see that you are talking about 2 drives but there are 3 in the
errpt you sent. I assume rmt1 and rmt2 to be the 3570 drives.
So first clean them if not already done. ( you can do this from the
operator panel I think). But it could also be that the cleaning is set to
"automatic" i.e. "as needed". This would also be a a reason for the "TAPE
OPERATION ERROR", cause this can happen if a cleaning tape is inserted in
the drive.
The normal reason would be either a dirty drive or a slightly damaged
medium. If the cartridge is damaged then the "RECOVERY LOGIC" is
reasonable. Have a look at the mediums if this happens with all cartridges
or only on specific ones. If only on specific medias, then I would
recommend to replace them asap ( you dont know how often you can recover
them) , otherwise look closer at your drive(s).

Subject: 3570 drive
Hi,
I have an old 3570 library with 2 drives. I am having following errors on
AIX.
There is no
problem yet I see at the moment yet but I want to learn possible causes..
Any
help appreciated.

Burak
