TDPO 2.2.1 config question

By the PDF manual on the CD for TDPO 2.2.1.0, the tdpo.opt config
file does not now have these two parameters
TDPO_NUM_BUFFERS
TDPO_AVG_SIZE
as they are not mentioned.  However this is not mentioned in the summary
of changes.  Are they not used anymore?  If not, how does the size
negotiation for Oracle 8.0.x happen?
