I have noticed this peculiarity of TSM to have it's own way of making
which is copy1 and copy2. Other than keep playing the add and delete
game, I have a thought that I've been meanin to try out.

The DB and Log vols are in the dsmserv.dsk file. Maybe the simplest
way to put them in the order you want is to halt TSM and then "carefully"
edit the file to put them in your order and then restart. (Make a copy of this
file before you start!!).

Anybody know if that is valid?

I am using TSM Mirroring for the Database, having 2 copies of each DB
volume.

TSM shows these as Copy1 and Copy2.

From some performance monitoring, it is always the "Copy1" DB volumes that
are busy. I am trying
to have a particular DB volume to be "Copy2" but not having much luck.

Starting out:

Copy1 is h:\db1.dsm, copy2 is i:\db1.dsm.

I add copy3 - d:\db1.dsm then delete copy1 (h:\db1.dsm).

I then have: copy1: i:\db1.dsm, copy2 is d:\db1.dsm. (Performance
monitoring now shows I:\db1.dsm having some of the acticity - which is what
I want)

Now I delete copy2 - d:\db1.dsm and add a nother copy - h:\db1.dsm

But when I do I end up with the same as the start!:

copy1 is h:\db1.dsm, copy2 is i:\db1.dsm

How can I get my copy1 to be i:\db1.dsm and copy2 to be h:\db1.dsm????
