Overview:

This course is designed to provide high-level, in-depth administration
training with Tivoli Storage Manager 4.1 beyond the information provided to
you in the Tivoli Storage Manager Implementation class. You will be shown
how to configure the Tivoli Storage Manager database and recovery log for
performance and availability. You will develop skills to run both client and
server trace functions and to write and execute server scripts. You will be
shown how to configure and administer Tivoli Storage Manager's Enterprise
Administration and Server to Server Virtual Volumes. You will also be shown
the recommended values for the more critical Tivoli Storage Manager
performance tuning parameters.

You will also be introduced to the enhancements for Tivoli Storage Manager
4.1, such as integration with Tivoli Data Protection Agents, Tivoli Disaster
Recovery Manager, Tivoli Space Manager, Tivoli SANergy File Sharing, Tivoli
Removable Media Manager, Tivoli Decision Support, and more.

You will also be given the opportunity, through hands-on exercises, to
recover a destroyed Tivoli Storage Manager database and a database volume.
You will run the Tivoli Storage Manager Audit Volume command against primary
storage pool volumes to determine if any of the volumes are corrupted, then
recover both a corrupted storage pool volume as well as an entire primary
storage pool.
