This same error happened to me.

Try this solution originally given to me by Becky Davidson on Jan. 18th of
this year!

Try a q node f=d to check to make sure that you have mount points greater
then 0.

Mine were at 0 and this was preventing the node from doing a backup.

I have no idea how they became 0 though.

Hi all,

I have a problem with one of my Solaris Clients (Solaris 5.8, TSM
4.1.2.12).
While backing up (scheduled from server) a file of 2 GB size (disk
threshold
0.5 GB) the client writes :

Normal File-- 2,147,491,840 /u03/oradata/alf/ihts01.dbf ** Unsuccessful **
ANS1114I Waiting for mount of offline media.
Retry # 1 Normal File-- 2,147,491,840 /u03/oradata/alf/ihts01.dbf [Sent]

The next file to send has the same size but :

Normal File-- 2,147,491,840 /u03/oradata/alf/ihts02.dbf ** Unsuccessful **
ANS1809E Session is lost; initializing session reopen procedure.
A Reconnection attempt will be made in 00:00:14 ... successful
Retry # 1 Normal File-- 2,147,491,840 /u03/oradata/alf/ihts02.dbf **
Unsuccessful **

After this the backup ends with a normal normal summary and the following
error-message :
ANS1312E Server media mount not possible

The Client gives a status of ok back to the server even though there are e
lot more files to scan and to backup on the client.
From my investigations at that time the requested tape is mounted, no other
process or session deals with that tape (collocation = yes).

Any ideas ?

Thanks

Chris
