More information about my question.

The user wants to use LAN only (no budget for SAN).  User wants to keep
most of the data on disk as there will not be operator to mount the tape to
restore the data.  Backup will be done once a week or fortnight (disk to
tape for permanent storage).  Backup window is not critical as the server
can backup the data from disk to tape and take as long as it wants. The
major factor here is the price of the solution.
