Karen,

Why don't you use the overflow fuction supplied with adsm. What this
requires is that you create a virtual location for tapes that cannot fit
into the library to reside. The tape stays in read / write mode and when it
is required adsm generates a request, which stays for 60 seconds. If you
haven't repled within the sixty seconds then the tape is set to unavailable.
