Did the checkout / checkin libvol work ?
have you tried a checkout using mtlib -l /dev/lmcp0 -C -tFF10 -Vvol ?
Which cell does the tape library think the tape is in ( via the
Search database option from one of the menus on the library PC ) - is
the tape actually in that cell ?
We had a similar - if not identical problem to this - when the gripper
had trouble turning 180 degrees to load / unload tapes. The library seemed
to think the tapes were still in the gripper ( or the mouth of the tape
drive ) and thus refused to recognize any operation on the tape - stating it was
inaccessible. Repeated use of the
above mtlib command to manually change the category of the tape
to Eject FF10 and Insert FF00 seemed to fix it.
