We need some tests:
In our copious spare time, each of us should attempt to restore a large
server. See how long it takes and report the overall numbers here. From
this we can develop rules of thumb about big time restores.
I've been using a ballpark rate of 10 GB/hour. I know this isn't how fast
the wire is or the speed of tape or anything else. It's experience. It's
about all I've ever seen from a single TSM stream. I have seen better with
big things like databases and whatnot, but for anything else: 10 GB/hour.
