Look more carefully the description of the command.
"TODAY" is the date/day of the current moment. But if you omit
"begintime=hh:mm" it defaults to "now-01:00".
So "q actlog msgno=xxxx" with or without "begindate=today" will return only
if you had this message in the last hour. And if you start this 20 minutes
after midnight you have the chance to get something from last 40 minutes of
"yesterday".
Using begindate="today-1" you're expanding the period to 1 hour + 1 day =
25 hours.
I hope this helps.

Subject: tsm 4.1 (aix432) syntax question

Hello,

When I try the following command:
q actlog msgno=xxxx begindate=today

I get no results.

But, when i try this command:
q actlog msgno=xxxx begindate=today-1

I get results from the previous day AND today. So, does tsm consider
'today' to be real-time or is 'today' a 24 hour period begining from the
time of day that tsm was started?

thanks for your help.
