Andy,
this information is quite ok, BUT what happens, if you set the Access Mode of
the desired volume from OFFSITE to Read/Write ?
Nothing - TSM will again start a OFFSITE Move Data, because (maybe !?!?) there
is a associated Volume, which is still OFFSITE.
And the big question is: How do you know, which OFFSITE Volume TSM needs for the
Move Data ?
I think, this was the question from John.
And again:
You bring your desired volume onsite (Read Write) because you want to get rid of
hundred of mounts.
On this Volume you have 1 Mio Files. And the only reason, why TSM makes a
OFFSITE Move Data is, that the last File (one out of 1 Mio!) is beginning at
this volume and ending at another volume.....
Very strange, but a fact, I guess...
