We just had a new Qualstar TLS 4480 Library installed to our WINNT Ver 3.7.3
server.
When we try to define the library, either from the command line or the device
wizard,
the operation fails. The Library shows up in the TSM Device list, and id
properly identified

The following are the errors received:
10/16/2001 12:06:58 ANR2017I Administrator XXXXXX issued command: DEFINE
                      LIBRARY aitlib libtype=scsi device=lb0.0.0.7
10/16/2001 12:06:58 ANR8310E An I/O error occurred while accessing library
                      AITLIB.
10/16/2001 12:06:58 ANR8418E DEFINE LIBRARY: An I/O error occurred while
                      accessing library AITLIB.

Both message ANR8310E and ANR8418E give the same description below:

ANR8310E An I/O error occurred while accessing library name .
Explanation: An I/O error occurs while accessing the designated library.
System Action: The operation fails.
User Response: Ensure that the DEVICE parameter associated with the library
is identified correctly in the DEFINE LIBRARY command, and that the library
is currently powered on and ready. If the library has an access door, make
sure it is closed. After checking and correcting these potential problems,
retry the operation.

The tech that installed the library assured us that the library is ready.
Has anyone had this problem?
