New 3583 - I/O slots?
2001-10-16 18:34:01
We just added a 3583-L72 to our TSM system. The "L72" means it uses the
12-slot I/O station. Since this is a primary online library, I don't
expect to handle tapes except in cases of media failure.
The library can be configured to use those 12 slots as storage instead of
I/O. According to the manual, that yields zero I/O slots. So, if I have a
tape go bad, how do I remove it USING TSM? Any library front panel
operations that move tapes requires a library audit because TSM would no
longer be in sync with the library inventory.
TSM 4.1.4.1 on AIX 4.3.3.
