Thanks for the responses!

Ben pointed me in a direction I think is hopeful. The dsm.opt file was the
original dsm.opt.smp--without a servername! dsm.sys only had one stanza, so
the client was picking up the TCPSERVERADDRESS ok, but some other things,
like inclexcl apparently were *not* being picked up. Or so it seems. I'll
kill the scheduler so it rereads the configuration and see what happens
tonight.

No domain statement at all. This box only has locally mounted drives.

This was my first guess also, but I have not been able to find it.

Actually, this one is a typo from when I transcribed it from my unix system
to the windows dreck they make me use for mail.

No, but now that you mention it, none of the inclexcl statements are being
followed.
