Concerning your question about the sched.log.  We have the following two
lines in our .opt files on our clients:

SCHEDMODE POLLING
QUERYSCHEDPERIOD 8

With this, the server is only touched every 8hrs, which doesn't clutter up
our logs yet ensures that if a schedule does changed sometime during the
day, it's picked up.
