hi Thida,

commtimeout value 600 is not a recommended value but it seems to work for
most of the customers.  I've seen some customers set it to  much higher
values.  It all depends on how full your database is.  If it has a lot of
NULL blocks, 600 might not be enough.  If you are performing incremental
backup and your database doesn't change much, RMAN will be spending a lot
of time scanning through data blocks to find changed blocks and again 600
might not be enough for this case either.  :}

This value doesn't affect the performance at all.  All it is used for is
to disconnect a client from the server if a client session is inactive for
the specified amount of time.  So setting to a higher value should be OK.
