TSM 4.1.2 different on Solaris ? HSM - Usage necessary ?
2001-07-20 10:43:58
I found that tsm 4.1.2
behaves different on Solaris 8
than it does on Tru64 4.0 and RedHat 7.1 (2.4.5)
(1) dsmc inc /etc
- Tru64/Linux: only the directory itself is specified
- Solaris 8: synonym to dsmc inc /etc/ :
directory and content is specified
(consequence: "/NET/remote_01" can not be specified in an
implicite manner as filespace for a subsequent backup of
just a handful of files there)
(2) "followsymbolic yes" in dsm.opt,
"virtualmountpoint /NET/local/etc" in dsm.sys
- Tru64/Linux "/NET/local/etc" is set as filespace
- Solaris 8 "/" is set as filespace
Can someone confirm this ?

Do I really have to use "HSM" on this particular platform ?

Is there an easy way ?
