isn't the Device Specific (FW) the microcode for the DRIVE and not for the
SCSI adapter?? Or is it actually the firmware level for the SCSI adapter?

fyi-- when I do an lscfg -vl scsi#
I don't get any firmware or microcode level info. After checking some
sources (an IBM Advanced Technical Expert and a CE), we *think* that this
won't be displayed with a PCI system (winterhawk II)-- just on MCA
systems. The supposition we are going on is that the firmware for the PCI
SCSI adapter and the PCI bus is updated with the system firmware.

Try this command:
lscfg -vl rmt_ then look at "Device Specific.(FW)"
example:
root@tsmsrv04>lscfg -vl rmt1
