Peter,
There is no way in AIX to specify software to be installed in specific
directory rather than /usr or /usr/lpp. Still you can copy installed
software on other filesystems or disks. If you change directory names it
works but you have to change all executable file links from /usr/bin
directory to refer to new files and more painful is future updates. Simple
way is:
1. Create separate filesystem for /usr/tivoli on the other hard disk.
2. If some file system already exists, create soft link with ln -s /existing
/usr/tivoli
Install Tivoli server/client. It will keep on separate disk.
