We had the same problem. With NT clients and we traced the TCP layers of
client and server, ADSM server, ADSM client, and network. The problem
mysteriously goes away and comes back. Tivoli indicates it is a TCP problem
...

Has anyone fixed this or just worked around it by timing out sessions?

        Marc,

We just an identical situation, where the NT clients hung as a
result of
losing their network connection. The only difference was that they
would
start up again and every time they lost the network connection more
sessions
were left hung. By morning, we had numerous sessions hung all for
the same
        client.

We changed the idletimeout parameter for server options to 30. It
was set
at 15 previously. I just made that change last night and this is
the first
morning we have not had a problem.

It might be worth a try for you.

        Brenda

        Hi all -
I am receiving the following errors for a Novell Server that failed
Backup.
TSM backup failed and caused the Novell Server to hang. Novell had
to be
rebooted to kill hung TSM session.

        TSM 3.7.4
        AIX 4.3.0
        Novell 4.1

Does anyone know how to read this error log?
If you could point me in the right direction....
        Thanks!
        Marc
