Yes, that works, as far as it goes.
You get a bootable system.


But, if you do not restore your registry, you lose all your customization.
And the doc says you should not restore registry without restoring the rest
of the "system objects".

There is a LOT of user customization for these WIn2K Pro systems - different
people have different software installed (programmer development kits,
specialized software, etc.)

The reason the management here has always supported TSM, is because we CAN
do bare-metal restores and get ALL the customization back, down to the last
shortcut and icon.

I hope someone WILL figure out how to rebuild a WIn2K system from scratch
and restore the registry, while using a "common" set of boot files...
