it may be useful to set variables :
        DSM_CONFIG='the dsm.opt file'
        DSM_DIR='the dsm directorie where the bin is'
        DSM_LOG='where you want the dsmeror.log & dsmsched.log to be'

then contact the server...  eg dsmc q sess.
you 'll be asked for the pasword at first time. then that 'd be ok.
