that will have all the library slot/tape info you need...(also cleaner
cycles)

the tape use "thing" has been a thorn in my rear for a long time now (going
on 6 years)
just use accounting records, take all the inbound traffic (arch, bkup, hsm)
add them up and divide by 10 (GB)
that will buy you some buffer space if your clients don't compress...
if mgmt says "what about compression" then you have to take all your tapes
(q vol dev=3590blah) take your average  capacity and then use that to
determine how many tapes you use daily based on inbound traffic...

believe me, there are ways around running out of space but they are all ugly
