We experienced the same with TSM Server 3.7.2.4. Service told us
to run CLEAN ARCHDIR with the DELETEDIrs option to delete all
archive directories for this node. The DELETEDIrs option was
inroduced with TSM Server 3.7.2.4. And we should use the 4.1.2
client which offers a new archive option, -v2Archive, which
suppresses archiving the directory structure. Unfortunately the
client system is a German SUSE Linux. There are known problems
with the 4.1.2 client (Umlaut in directories / filenames)...
We plan to do the CLEAN ARCHDIR this weekend. If everything
works we finally will reach ADSM Version 2 functionality again!

I wish Tivoli would provide some information on this list how to fix
archive performance problems. I did not find any documentation on
the new CLEAN ARCHDIR options in the 3.7.2.4 Server README!
