You could, alternatively, do any of the following:
* Install a temp NT system in the same partition, using different name from
"WINNT";
* Consider using the TDP for Workgroups, to protect C-drive (storing its
results on a local tape drive);
* Consider TKG's product set for bare metal restore (they are preparing to
release Win2k, already have NT).

We currently use a generic/standard-build based NT install script which is
mostly-automated (unattended except for initial prompts and final
registry-copying steps). Would like to use TDPfW when it stores the data on
a TSM server; will evaluate TKG for Win2k (maybe, also, for Solaris & AIX)
to see how well it works versus current jump-start strategy.

Hi All,

For NT 4.0, I have tested the Bare Metal Restore on a testing PC and the
procedures is fine.
However, it seems unrealistic to have a NT repair partition in particular
for a NT with only one harddisk.
Just wan to know how you cater for NT system recovery in a TSM environment.
Do you run additional backup utilities? If so, what is your procedures.
Thanks in advance.
