I've report this problem to Tivoli support but haven't get any feedback yet.
I figured I might get a faster response here...

Environment:
TSM server version = 3.7.2.0
TSM server host o/s = AIX 4.3.3.0
TSM client version = 3.7.2.0
TSM client host o/s = AIX 4.3.2.0
TSM server - IDLETIMEOUT option is set to 15 minutes
TSM client - RESOURCEUTILIZATION option set to 10
.
Problem Description:
Resourceutilization option is set to 10 in client and IDLETIMEOUT
option in server is set to 15 minutes. Average backup time for this
client is 4 hours. The summary of backup (ANE4952I,ANE4954I,ANE4958I
ANE4960I etc..) is found in dsmched.log but NOT send to server activity
log.
Preliminary investigation found that the first session (compare thread)
was terminated (my guess is it's due to idletimeout = 15 minutes) before
backup completed. Also a
couple of sessions was terminated due to "protocol violation detected".
