Hi Johan,

You should make sure that the STK9710 is not also set to clean the drives.

I have experienced several failing dismounts from the DLT7000's for
cleaningtapes - and others. Most of them are caused by mehanical failures.

I use cleanfrequency 'asneeded'.

Hello  *SMers,



We are rumming ADSM server version 3, release 1 level 2.50 on a AIX RS/6000
machine.
The library  used is a STK9710, with 6 DLT 7000 drives.
The cleaning facility of the robot has been disabled.
In ADSM the cleaning frequency has been set to a triggerlevel of  500 GB.
Two Cleaning tapes are always checked-in in the library, and each contains,
if new, a capacity of 20 cleanings according the vendor, (QUANTUM) and are
checked-in with the number of cleanings as such.

Now the problem is that depending on a for us unknow situation the cleaning
commence to fail with still a certain number of cleanings left on the
cleaning tape. This number may be differend  as we have seen problems with
tapes which had 3 to 7 cleanings left ...
As there are still cleanings left according the ADSM  database...... the
system will no switch to the next cleaning cartridge and will produce the
error,
