We are currently evaluating ADSM and Legato product, in a backup scenario
that
consists of a
single and only local server backup to a DLT Tape.

Altough this kind of backup doesn't exploit the ADSM full features, it's a
requirement of the customer
that at least ADSM comes close to the performance figures shown by Legato.

And this is where out problem is right now, to the Same DLT drive able to
sustain a teorethical 43Gb/h,
the Legato product acheives 23Gb/h while ADSM after tuning and tests with
direct-to-tape and
disk-to-tape configurations, seems always stuck at a 6/7 Gb/h.

This tests ware done with full backup, so there is no comparasion taking
place.

As anyone a better solution to improve performance, or some better figures
than
these
