Hi David,

The NT Server I installed didn't perform at all with the initial
configuration.
We did have a Mylex Raid controller (4MB caching) with an one Gig mirrored
system disk and a 3 disk RAID 5 for the application software(ADSM DB LOG and
Disk pool).

The Tape library was on a separate dual SCSI controller.

We then moved ADSM DB, LOG and disk pool to a 32 GB - CMD 5500 - RAID 5 with
(64MB write back cache) on the second port of the tape SCSI controller. We
didn't change the Server!

The performance increase was phenomenal compared to the first configuration.

The expire inventory runs for about 5 minutes (ADSM database is 2 GB in
size).

I would have several controllers and RAID sets split up the DB,LOG and Disk
pools.

If you are going to run everything on ONE RAID 5 you are going to have disk
contention.

Hope this helps
