Dear ADSMer,

Client Version: Solaris 3.1.0.7
Server Version AIX 3.1.2.40
Drives: 3590E / Firmware mostly-up-todate

... changing one client with about 1.000.000 files
from compression=NO to Compression=yes
and running the backup full against all files we got
the Data ( about 64 GB ) on the 3590 Tapes in the
following output ( the client is the only one in this stg-pool):

adsm> q vol stg=tape_*

Volume Name Storage Device Estimated Pct

... my question now is : can I do something parameter-tuning
to get more out of the tapes ( more near by 20 GB ) ?
is the difference caused by the number
of files or does the compression mode of the Clientfiles have an
effect
on the space used by adsm somehow ?

Thanks in advance !
Rainer
