This might be workable, but there are all kinds of potential pitfalls:
1.Can you get a server with the hardware resources to support the entire
workload?
2.Can you set limits on number of processes, number of open files, and so on
high enough to support the entire workload?
3.Is there an AIX release and service level that all the applications can live
with?
4.For each other software product (such as a database product) used by two or
all three of production systems, is there a single release and service level
everybody can live with?
5.If the answer to the previous question is ever 'no', are the products
involved configured in such a way that different levels of the product use
disjoint sets of file names?
6.Do the three sets of applications use disjoint sets of file names?
7.Do the three sets of applications have any conflicts over other resources,
such as IP port numbers or device names for tape drives?
8.Do the three sets of applications have any conflicting requirements
regarding network topology (for example, being behind a firewell versus not
being behind a firewall) or network services (for example, requiring a
functioning tftp server versus not allowing such a server because of potential
security exposures)?
9.Can the three sets of applications live with the same downtime schedules for
such purposes as system backups and system maintenance?
