Dear all,

is there anyone who has experience on implementing a directory management class?

I have build a directory management class on the TSM Server which is called
DIRMC.
In the client optionfile I have added the line dirmc dirmc. The client starts
without an error message.

Now the problem:
The disk storage pool DIRPOOL for the directory information with the capacity of
1 MB does not fill on backup.
Pct. Util. is 0.4% and does not change.

On restore the corresponding volume (/dirpool/dir02.dsm) can be set off-line,
nevertheless the restore is terminated successfully.

It seems that the directory information is not stored into the DIRMC!

Here my procedure:
1. dsmfmt -m -data /dirpool/dir02.dsm 1
2. Add Primary Storagepool
     Storage Pool Name: DIRPOOL
     Device Class: Disk
3. Add Storage Pool Volume
     Storage Pool: DIRPOOL
     Volume Name: /dirpool/dir02.dsm
4. Add Management Class
     Policy Domain: Standard
     Policy Set: Standard
     Management Class: DIRMC
5. Add Backup Copy Group
     Policy Domain: Standard
     Policy Set: Standard
     Management Class: DIRMC
     Dest. Stg. Pool: DIRPOOL
6. Activate Policy Set

Thanks for your assistance.

Mit freundlichen Gruessen - Yours sincerely
