Same here, ACSLS 5.3.2, 9840's, AIX 3.7.2.

No problems at all (other than 2 errors on a drive that were fixed with a
microcode upgrade).

Seek times are terrific; mount/seek/reclamation times all much better than
with DLT.

If you are converting from 3490 tape, you will probably find that seek times
are as good, reclamation will run longer just because the 9840 can hold so
many more files.  Only gotcha that I know of, when we converted to
high-capacity tapes I had to increase the size of the recovery log because
the reclamation processes were running a lot longer.  I suggest just keeping
an eye on your log size....
